The Electronic Maze

So after weeks of slaving away on your track. After weeks of wrestling with backing vocals, tweaking your snare, and not to mention countless back and fourth discussions with your mastering engineer, you find yourself here, at this very moment. The moment when you upload your track for sale on iTunes, Traxsource & countless other digital stores. Your artwork is on point. Your format is on lock. The only thing left for you to do now is specify your tracks genre. Sounds easy enough right? However when you come to think of it, your track doesn’t quite meet the BPM requirements to be considered house. It most definitely ain’t hip hop, however there just so happens to be a killer verse by Jacknife Jimmy in which he lays down a lavish flow. And nope, it ain’t jazz, but the sax wailing over the cymbals may just point to the contrary. And so, you do what many others before you have done – choose the only genre that makes sense of your musical masterpiece.

The Electronic genre in our estimation of things is like that one cupboard in your house. That one miscellaneous cupboard where all the odds and ends that don’t really have a place are stored. We mean no offense to any “Electronic” producers out there, cause truth be told, some of our best discoveries have been made while rummaging around in this all assorted electronic cupboard of sorts.

Many a time during our escapades in SoundCloud’s electronic maze, we’ve stumbled upon tunes that are like wow, simply for the mere fact that they sound unlike anything else we’ve ever heard before. It’s as if all boundaries norms and conventions were done away with, and the artists imagination was allowed to run wild & uninhibited in the studio. It’s for this exact reason that the electronic genre in all its complexity has captured our imaginations, taking us on auditory adventures that we may never have been brave enough to embark on by ourselves. From brass bands to badass basslines, we’ve encountered some of the best music you’ll find anywhere.

We’ve decided to share a few of our favourite electronic finds that we’ve discovered during our SoundCloud escapades. So go ahead, press play and loose yourself in the Electronic Maze.
