Mixtape Tunes For House Heads

Mixtape Tunes For House Heads

If we asked you to put a mixtape together for us, in all likelihood, your first reaction would be to find some tracks from Jay Z, Drake, and maybe Meek Mill (if you inclined in that way) and pop them onto a CD. Cause let’s be honest with each other, the very idea of a mixtape conjures up the very thought of hip hop. It conjures up images of people huddled together in a Cypher. Of sounds that are synonymous with the streets like sirens & children’s laughter. And of lavish lyrics that tell the tales of the deboucharous lives of rappers. But hey, let’s not get it twisted. Cause in all honesty, who’s to say that house music can’t capture that very essence that we’ve come to know and love.

You see, the thing about house music is that it has to be one of the most versatile genres of the 21st century. It has the ability to encapsulate the very essence of another genre, all while staying true to its very own. It’s been able to capture the Coltrane infused jazz sounds of the 50’s, the disco sounds of the 70’s, and the very swagger of 90’s hip hop.

We’ve put together a few house tracks that encapsulate the very essence of hip hop in the best way possible. So sit back, relax, and get your hip hop on.
