Animated music videos and house music are like gin and juice, sushi and wasabi, and of course, Monday mornings and traffic. That’s not to say that house music videos that are typically shot aren’t entertaining. It’s just that the genre of house music lends itself so well to animated music videos. When it comes to music videos that are usually shot, one usually finds that there are certain limitations that restrict one’s imagination, and inevitable, one’s scope of expression.
House music, like so many other genres has built itself on freedom of expression. Using synths, kicks, snares, and numerous other sounds, house music never fails to transports its listeners to imaginary worlds far away from the normal drudgery of everyday life. Animated house music videos aid in this escapism. Providing the imaginary that paint the pictures sketched out by the melody of the music, without having any of the limitations of normal music videos?
