They say the more things change, the more they stay the same. Yeah sure, that saying might work when it comes to discussions on the weather and other mundane stuff. However when it comes to house music, this truism couldn’t be further from the truth. Once upon a time in 1993, Spinnin Records released Robin S’s hit single ‘Show Me Love’. Twenty-two years later, they’ve released yet another single. A single with the same title, the same lyrics and a similar melody. Yes the elements are all the same. But, is it the some song? No!
Sam Feldt is at the helm of this rather pleasing deep house remix, and needless to say, it’s pure class. Set against the backdrop of a deep house beat, the vocals soar in angelic fashion causing the lyrics to resonate within the listener unlike ever before. Sure, this track isn’t the club banger we all fell in love with. However what it is, is an emotionally drenched house song that manages to pluck at every one of our heart strings. And if you really come to think of it, do we really need yet another club banger? In our opinion, this refreshing remake is good enough to be memorable on its own, without relying on the legendary status of the original track.
