It’s hard to believe that when this song was first released in 1999, it came out as an instrumental track. No sultry lyrics, no catchy hook, just one cool ass beat. Needless to say sanity prevailed, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor was asked to provide the lyrics we’ve come to know and love. With catchy lyrics in place, Spiller’s Groovejet would go on to claim the number 1 spot on the UK charts, and would eventually become the 8th best selling single of 2000 in the UK.
We don’t know about you, but it’s 14 years later and we think this song is still sounding pretty good. So ladies and gentlemen, without further adieu we bring you our Flashback Friday house song, complete with lyrics for your singing pleasure…please try not to sing off key 🙂
Spiller – Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)
LYRICS:
Holding you closer
It’s time that I told you
Everything’s going to be fine
Know that you’re leaving
And try to belive it
Take me one step at a time
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
Think of tomorrow
We beg, steal or borrow
To make all we can in the sun
While we are moving
The music is soothing
Troubles we all have begun
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
Will you remember me boy?
Remember me
Boy will ya?
Just for this lifetime
You can be my past time
Here are the rules of our play
In it together
Till I know you better
Darling, Darling
What do you say?
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
If this ain’t love
Why does it feel so good?
