The South African house scene. Where do we begin? Where do we end? And most importantly, are there enough adjectives to describe it in its entirety? You see, the fact of the matter is that the South African house scene is without a doubt one of the biggest, & most vibrant in the world. Long gone are the days in which the SA house scene relied upon the bustling European scene to help in defining its own. Instead, South African producers have become cultivators of their own sound, creating a type of house music that’s unique, distinctive, and undeniably African.
And so every year, travelers, enthusiasts and fanatics flock to our shores in search of treasure. However unlike the travelers of yesteryear, they search not for the rich gold deposits embedded in our African soil. Instead, they search for the golden house sounds pulsating through our airwaves. They search for novelty. They search for a new auditory experience unlike anything they’ve had before. They search for the South African jewelers of house music. Those men & woman who’ve dedicated their lives to crafting & defining the South African house sound.
