The Revolution Will Be Podcast

The revolution will be podcast! Not televised. Not broadcast on radio. But podcast. At this point in time, you may be thinking – that’s quite a bold statement to be making, considering the fact that everybody watches TV & listens to radio. Maybe so, maybe so. However, as we all know, things have a funny way of changing overnight.

If you consider the fact that we live in a digital world. The fact that most happenings break online way before making their way over to the more traditional mediums. The fact that digital releases are the norm, popularised by radio days after, it wouldn’t be that far fetched to consider a world where we negotiate our way around the hottest podcasts long before tuning into radio for our house music fix. Hell, that’s what we’ve been doing all along anyway.

With Lars Behrenroth’s long running “Deeper Shades Of House” & Thatmanmonkz’s “Shadeleaf Sunday Sessions” we’ve become accustomed to the idea of incorporating podcasts in our daily search for the latest house jams. Tuning in religiously to have our favourite DJs school us on what’s new in the digital world.

Yeah sure, we still have the high data dilemma out here in South Africa, something our European and American counterparts know nothing about. However, once all that changes who knows, the revolution might just be podcast. Not televised. Not broadcast on radio. But yes, podcast.

However until then, why not take a listen to these hot podcasts we listen to on the regular. And while you’re at it, why not keep your ears peeled for some fresh releases you may have missed out on. Enjoy!
