Black Motion Split Over Creative Differences
It’s a sad day for SA house music lovers. But yes, the rumors are true…Black Motion have split. According to a source close to the duo, Thabo and Robert have been at each others throats for months now over the musical direction they should take. The duo who are typically known for their afrocentric sound are said to have had a major falling out while in the studio producing their latest single.
A friend close to the group stated:
“It started off as one of their typical sessions in the studio. They were throwing around ideas & playing around with some sounds. I stepped out of the room to make a phone call, and when I got back, all hell had broken loose! Thabo was blaming Rob for being too safe with their sound, while Rob was blaming Thabo for being too risky and not understanding their brand. The next thing I know, I see Thabo storming out of the room”
Reps have cited creative differences as the reason for the split, however, they have stated that there are hopes of the duo reuniting! Well, the way we see it…Black Motion may have split up, but their music will live on forever. Happy April Fools Day!
